Halloween
Mood:  lazy
Topic: Update
Hello again everyone, sorry I've been away for so long. We had our official Halloween party last saturday, and it was a blast. We had an AMV viewing, ate pizza rolls with chopsticks and had our very own Iron Cosplay contest. Other than that it was business as usuall, with Chelle's random dancing to entertain us, everything else was icing on the cake.

I have nothing new to report in Anime news, and Darcy hasnt sent me anything either, but J-List has some really neat new items including a Hello Kitty green tea cup and a new brand of loose socks.

Anime Weekend Atlanta
Mood:  rushed
Now Playing: "Yes! Pocky Girls" by Morning Musume
Topic: Con Report
Well we just got back from AWA 10 and it was one hell of a con. I enjoyed everything from the dancing Tetris blocks to well the dancing Tetris blocks. Actually so far AWA is my favorite con. Props to Jason Merril for putting on a wonderful ball, I had a blast and I got to dance with Darcy to her favorite song, so that ruled. Thanks to the entire AWA staff you were very helpful and if there were any major glitches the majority of us didn't know about them. Unfortunatly due to Darcy's participation in the costume contest we missed a few of the panels we wanted to go to, but the costume contest was flawless, well nearly flawless. I do have one complaint, the fact that they didn't have interviews in the Kennesaw room like they said they would kinda cost me all but one of my interviews. Had we been notified of the change on Friday instead of late Saturday we could've dealt with it.

Anyways other than that and the brunch thing on sunday, the con rocked, and we've already got tickets for next year, hopefully we'll be grantes our press passes again.

As for our next con we're hoping to be at Otakucon in Miami Beach Dec. 17-19. We're crossing our fingers that we get press passes.

Look for Darcy's official AWA con-report on our events page by the end of next week.

Topic: News I Think
Anime Weekend Atlanta is less than 3 weeks away, and we've just been informed that we have media passes, so look for even better coverage than we brought you from AFO. We are really looking forward to this event and are stocked on batteries and spare cameras, so i want to see all of you cosplaying otaku out there ready for your time in the spotlight!

We are currently having a mascot design contest, if you would like to compete join our forums for more details.

My reviews are running a little behind, but i promise you my review of Daiguard will be up soon, followed not long after by my review of Get Backers.

Well, thats all for now. I really hope to see you all at AWA.

Everyone Gravitates to Eiri Yuki
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Yatta! (Extended Mix)
Topic: Review

Okay I know this months review is late, so i will give you 2 this month, Gravitation and Daiguard.

I really like Gravitation. Its a shonen-ai about a 19 year old boy named Suichi Shindo, who is the leader of Bad Luck, an up and comming band in Japan, who falls in love with Eiri Yuki, a romantic novelist. This romantic comedy has odd plot twists and some real characters. The story really hits home, even though some of the characters being over the top, they face very real problems just like the rest of us. The voice acting is really top notch, though the company and talent are not familiar to me, they did a marvelous job. The animation is also awesome; its clean and smooth with great detail. I really cant find a flaw in this particular show i'm giving it a 9 out of 10.

Anime Festival Orlando 5
Mood:  rushed
Topic: Con Report
Anime Aftermath was fortunate enough to make it to Anime Festival Orlando 5 this past weekend. I liked the con overall but there were some things that need attention brought to them. The contest times for the cosplay and costume contest kept changing which makes it really hard to make plans to attend other events. The regular staff was kind of pushy, and even a little rude. One of them whose name will go unmentioned, actually ran into the chocobo, and then tried to make it sound like its was Darcy's fault which still bothers me. Everything was kind of hard to find too.

Okay now that I've finished ranting i would like to say the volunteer staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. There were alot of cosplayers there with some really good costumes, however i didn't see alot of just "wow" costumes. The Iron Cosplay presented by Anime Sushi was a hit, with skilled commentators keeping us entertained, and Anime Angie creating a part seal part duck creature dubbed the "suck" out of the plushies that were the magical ingredient for the magical girl themed contest. The challenger Kim defeated Iron Cosplay champion Dejiko Joe with her Sailor Uranus costume. The game room was decent sized, though it could've been bigger. The dealers room was a pretty good size and stocked, though some of the merchandise was overpriced. The costume and cosplay contests were a huge hit especially the cosplay contest.

Look for Darcy's more in depth con report later this week.

The not so Super Milk Chan Show
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Review
Well the other day Darcy gave me her NewType sample disc for august containing the Super Milk Chan Show Episode 3. Wow, this was one of the worst anime I have ever seen. It appears to be Japans horrid attempt at another South Park. It looks cute enough, and the art is exceptional, but the farting robot is just a little over the top, and the punch lines are weak. The karaoke singing president is just creepy and not in a good way. The worst part was the plot it made less sense to me than Excel Saga. I take that back, the worst part is Milk's favorite TV show, Mr. Shin. The Mr. Shin show is about this middle aged pot belly man who thinks he's a schoolboy and wears a school uniform, which covers him about as well as the ever infamous Man-Faye. The best part however was the voice acting. You can always count on ADV to serve up a helping of good voice talent, and they came through for us on this one casting my personal favorite voice actress, Hillary Haag (Nene, Bubblegum Crisis 204; Karinka, Steel Angel Karumi) as the voice of Super Milk Chan. Due to its cute well drawn visuals and the great delivery from Ms. Haag I'm going to give this poor excuse of an anime a 3 out of 10.

News
Anime= Fox Box gots it goin on!

One Piece Fans Rejoice! One Piece is to appear on Fox's, FOXBOX, this fall. Finally the animated adventures of one of the most popular mangas is coming to American TV. I know by all the Luffy Cosplayers out there that you've waited for this for some time! Who knows maybe in time we will get some of the games or the movie! Along with One Piece Fox will also be showing Tokyo Mew Mew (also based on the popular manga) , and F-Zero GP Legend (based on the video game).

Games= Inuyasha Mania!

Speaking of Games, I just cant wait for the Inuyasha PS2 RPG, The secret of the cursed mask, to come out! Its true you do play as an original charater just made for the game, that gets sucked into a wormhole or something and ends up in feudal japan with the Inuyasha crew! You can choose to play a boy or girl. I haven't see the boy but I did get a peak at the girl. She is simple yet cute! She wears a long sleaved white shirt much like kagome's that has a no sleave yellow sweater with a v-neck over it. A blue bow is at the collar of her white shirt and she wears a brown plaid short skirt with teal long socks and brown shoes just like Kagome's. She has short brown/black hair that flairs out a little just under her ears, and a circle emblem on her left side of her shirt tells me that she is wearing her school uniform. I can't wait to see someone cosplay as her! The Game is a turn based RPG with characters in SD form during battles, Uber Cute!

But if Inuyasha isn't your cup o' tea then don't fret, lots of anime games are coming out this Fall:

Cowboy Bebop PS2

Yu Yu Haskosho PS2

Rave Master GBA

Ghost in the Shell Stand alone complex PS2

Kingdome Hearts Chain of Memories GBA

Stuff= TETSUOOOOOOO!

If you've seen Akira, most of you have probably drooled over Kaneda's awesome motorcycle in the movie, well you might want to get a towel handy, Kaneda's Bike Has Been Built! Its official name is Kaneda's Motorcycle concept-000-XP. A team of 30 specialist built it with their leader, a mysterious person going only by the alias NEO. It took over 7 years to make this masterpiece of a motorcycle, and boy was it worth it! Its so authentic that it was approved by Bandai, Bandai Visual, and Kodansha! And no its not just a model, it really is a working motorcycle, It has a water cooled single cylinder 4 cycle DOHC 4 valve engine and can go well over 100mph!

We didnt make it to METROcon. Oh well. Darcy and I saw Spiderman 2 lastnight, it was really cool, especially the part with the street performer singing the original spiderman theme. Darcy's comic is comming along really nice.

I really dont have any Industry news to report, but we're working on holding a special event at Anime Weekend Atlanta. Check back later for details.
